Ten Cherry Tree Black Ink Paintings

The following ten paintings were inspired by a recent trip to Washington DC where I was fortunate to experience the early bloom of our famous national cherry trees. All but #3 and#4 (which are from the National Arboretum) are from the tidal basin area of the national mall. These trees were planted in 1912 as a gift from the people of Japan. The paintings are all 9″ X 12″, hand-ground black ink with acrylic wash, on mulberry paper mounted on Claybord.
